Digital Media Analyst

As a Digital Media Analyst, you would be an important member of the day to day Integrated Media Planning team, helping ensure digital executions are delivered flawlessly. In this role you’ll be focused on digital and social platforms, setting up and running digital strategies and providing feedback to the teams for how we can do it better the next round.

Responsibilities

Below are some of the key activities/expectations of our Digital Media Analyst:

  • Embrace client business objectives, ensuring that digital executions are designed to deliver objectives
  • Execute paid digital campaigns (ie. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Google Adwords, Programmatic) to deliver brand goals. This includes campaign structure and targeting, bidding strategy, versioning per segment and test design.
  • Identify variables that can be optimized and execute optimization.
  • Conduct varied data analyses using Excel, including the use of functions, filters and Pivot Tables.
  • Prepare recommendations for Integrated Media Team based on the insights revealed through execution/optimization to readjust future plans.
  • Work with Integrated Media Team to develop and test new campaigns to better target users and improve overall ROI
  • Aggregate results and produce detailed campaign reports & dashboards to communicate campaign performance and ensure KPIs are being met
  • Document/update internal processes to help make wins repeat, and to improve efficiency and performance
  • Quarterly and monthly forecasting, performance projections and media budgeting.
  • Build productive relationships internally and with external agency partners.
  • Research digital trends, trending topics and opportunities
  • Actively participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions
  • Monitor and maintain buys to ensure campaigns run as planned
  • Hands-on use of key industry systems/tools, including Doubleclick, Sizmek and, Google Adwords and Facebook for Business.
  • Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • You have hands-on experience with Google AdWords, Facebook Business, Google Analytics. Ideally google certified. Online media trafficking experience required.
  • You demonstrate high Excel proficiency, including the use of functions, filters and Pivot Tables.
  • You are curious and have a “test, learn, optimize” mindset
  • You recognize the importance of details and accuracy and are committed to getting it right the first time.
  • You communicate effectively, both in person and in writing.
  • You can analyze a set of numbers and you are proficient in math. You may even be a little bit of a geek at heart – and we’ll love you for it.
  • You have the ability to take direction, ask questions, problem-solve, and manage multiple priorities
  • Even under pressure, you can deliver high quality work within tight deadlines.
  • You think critically, analyze everything and look for unconventional solutions to problems
  • You like to speak up with new ideas and challenge the status quo
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and ideally 2+ years  experience planning media across a variety of digital channels.

Responsibilities

From Day 1, our associates have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of assignments across our diverse client portfolio.

Below are some of the key activities/expectations of our Media Associates:

  • Help plan and activate media activity across digital, traditional, influencer and paid social media.
  • Embrace a client’s business, including understanding the target, category, and client’s competitors
  • Gather and analyze relevant data and calculate basic media math to support sound recommendations for when, where, and how a client’s advertising dollars should be spent
  • Monitor and maintain budgets, reporting, flowcharts and buys to ensure campaigns run as ordered and are optimized for future plan improvement
  • Research and evaluate competitors advertising efforts to identify opportunities and threats
  • Build productive relationships internally, with external agency partners and with clients
  • Support effective communication with internal cross-agency teams (creative, social, account, production, etc.) to ensure they have all information needed in a timely fashion
  • Show a keen interest in and growing knowledge of emerging trends across the media landscape.
  • Provide timely responses to adhoc requests

Associate Media Director

At Mistress, the Associate Media Director leads the strategic development of media plans and monitors day to day progress on assigned accounts to ensure media activities are completed accurately and delivered timely to the client. This role is very “hands-on” working closely with staff on all aspects of media planning and buying as well being an agency role model in terms of leadership, client relations and interdepartmental integration. This is a tremendous opportunity to collaborate across all departments in the agency.

Responsibilities

Key activities/expectations of our Associate Media Director includes:

  • Understand all aspects of clients’ business and marketing goals
  • Lead the creation and presentation of the strategic media vision for assigned client brands
  • Integrate consumer-centric, media-agnostic strategic media thinking into all communication plan development
  • Institute media checks and balances to ensure all work is aligned with plan strategy
  • Oversee the progress of all media projects and provide assistance, where necessary, to assure projects are delivered completely, correctly, on time and with maximum efficiency
  • Challenge and teach the team to discover and articulate insights (not just facts)
  • Lead by example, stepping in as needed to ensure team success.

Qualifications

  • You have demonstrated success in managing client accounts and building client relationships
  • You are articulate and confident — able to think proactively and reactively to bring strategic solutions to clients
  • You are Left and Right brained – you ground your recommendations in data, but demonstrate creativity in your approach to analyzing the data
  • You are comfortable working with different teams (creative, social, digital, etc.)  to solve complex business challenges
  • You have experience working on new business opportunities and this part of the work excites you
  • You demonstrate thorough knowledge of the dynamics of media. How each media element performs alone, how they perform together and how they are constantly changing
  • You have strong relationships (and reputation) in the media vendor community
  • You are highly motivated, self-directed, and able to prioritize tasks for yourself and your team
  • You are digitally savvy.  Not only do you have online media planning experience, but you have a personal passion about emerging media.
  • You deal well with ambiguity and changes in direction
  • You are experienced at training and inspiring a team, including managing the personnel issues that invariably arise
  • You have delivered progressive levels of responsibility and business acumen in marketing and communications
