What this role is responsible for:

  • Autonomy over and maintaining control for several productions at a time 
  • Daily reconciliation and tracking of all production POs, invoices, and credit card transactions 
  • Bi-weekly reconciliation of expenses for the production team, within and outside of physical production
  • Conduct start-up and wrap meetings with production
  • First point of contact for production accounting needs, such as: petty cash, purchase orders, virtual credit card issuing for production, etc.
  • Familiarity with Hot Budgets software and reconciling line items per AICP methods for commercial production
  • Pull audit details for freelancers on production projects
  • Point of contact for Finance Department within Quickbooks, NetSuite and bill.com workflows
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on workflows & enforce The Many accounting procedures with freelancers
  • Ensure Director of Production Operations is kept updated with forecasted inflows
  • Partner with Director of Production Operations and other team members to ensure proper protocols are implemented, ensuring we're abiding by contract requirements and keeping an eagle eye out for any potential problems or issues affecting production
  • Handle payroll audits from CAPS (and other third party  production payroll partners) to ensure that they are aligned with submitted timecards
  • Provide reports to support month end accounting close, including: accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, cash flow, cost reports, hot costs and other ad hoc reports as needed
  • Keep informed of all non-union and union/guild contracts (rates, rules and regulations)
  • Comply with all policies and procedures for purchase orders, invoices, checks and time card approvals
  • Evaluate production bids
  • Wrap up and actualize productions, including offshore projects
  • Audit productions and seek efficiency improvements

What we need from you:

  • Minimum of 4 or more years of production accountant experience
  • Experience using: Hot Budgets, QuickBooks, bill.com, Expensify
  • Hand ons experience with CAPS Payroll 
  • Experience with short + long form content
  • Expertise with vendor and talent contracts
  • Advanced experience with spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets)

Other things we’d like to see:

  • Advertising agency experience appreciated
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Open to a hybrid-working model (in office three days a week)

Our salary range for this freelance (temporary)  opportunity is $2,500.00 to $3,000.00 per week. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package (i.e. benefits, retirement plan employer match, etc.).
