We Will be OOO the (Whole) Week of September 2, 2024…and You Should be Too
For the fifth year in a row, The Many will be observing what we call Labor Week. Yes, you heard that right. Instead of only observing one day - a day that is meant to celebrate and honor the social and economic achievements of American workers - we felt a week was more appropriate to recognize the amazing work our team members contribute to our organization on a regular basis.
We have chosen to reinvent how we celebrate this holiday not just because our team members are the best in the world, but because of…science.
We feel wholeheartedly that everyone deserves a break especially after 8 months of delivering top notch work. But a three-day weekend is scientifically not long enough to re-energize, revitalize, and give our team members the reset they need to come back to work as better versions of themselves with a renewed sense of passion, ready to tackle the challenges facing us for the remainder of the year.
In an article published by the Washington Post earlier this year, several experts debated over the most impactful amount of time an individual should take to reach their peak in relaxation, health, & well-being. While the jury is still out on the ideal number of days, there does seem to be a general consensus that for most individuals, 8 days is a strong contender for a healthy reset.
Labor Week has become an annual commitment to our team. It’s an opportunity to step away from our screens, to reset, and recharge. It’s a week devoted to taking time and space to honor our well-being, and participate in the world around us in whatever way we choose. When we return, we can continue to deliver excellence, for each other and our clients, to keep moving the world forward.
It also serves as an open invitation for everyone to participate in conversations around mental health, burnout, and the general well-being of our teams.
As usual, we plan ahead for this week so that we don’t miss a beat. We are grateful to our partners who have planned ahead with us in support of this important and hopefully soon-to-be-trending initiative.
We look forward to reconnecting when we return, feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
Happy Labor Week!
Be Well,
The Many
